I would like to dedicate this album in loving memory to my late brother, Doug Ivan. He died tragically in 1987 at age 24 in a construction accident. The loss of my brother had a profound effect and influence in my life. The following scripture captivated my heart:
Acts 2: "In the last days", saith God, "I will pour forth of my spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days will I pour forth of my spirit; and they shall prophesy: and I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord come; that great and notable day! And it shall be that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

only sixteen. Adrift with a sense of abandonment after losing a parent, she searched for
understanding as her home and family suffered the unexpected blow.
Kitty went on to marry her high school sweetheart and met with the joys of motherhood as her first son, Joshua, entered her life. For a time she resided in Lakeland, Florida with her husband and young son, but soon after, while pregnant with her second son (Wesley), Kitty was met with yet another unexplainable loss taken away from close to her heart. At the young age of twenty-six, Kitty lost her younger brother, Doug, to a head injury as a result of a tragic accident at his work.
Devastated from the loss of not one, but two dear men in such a short amount of time, Kitty struggled to survive the pain. Awash with grief both old and new she turned desperately toward bitterness just to obtain the insensitivity it promised to provide. But, by his grace, God reached out to her even as she pulled away from him and as she searched for comfort she soon found it in him.
More trials did come among the following years, but God never left her. He held her hand as her other brother slipped away from carbon monoxide poisoning, and he saw her through a painful divorce a few years later, and through the comfort in God's love her heart survived all of the pain—still able to feel the joys that also came. Kitty met a wonderful man, John Harris, in 2002, and they were married two years later. And she also earned the title "Grandma" upon the joyous arrivals of her two grandchildren, Shane and Ernie.
Through it all, Kitty Harris embraces the hope of Christ. She has come to firmly believe that life
is a journey and that God touches every life regardless if he is praised or unnoticed, and that
absolutely everything happens for a reason. In her songs, Kitty expresses from her heart the truth
that has saved her from despair, and in the words of each song she has embedded love and hope and
the secret to true peace.
Some songs were penned with specific faces in her mind, and fervent cries lie within the words for
those certain people, but every song was written with one sole purpose: to tell the world of beauty
that rewrites ugliness. Her ultimate mission is to lead anyone who will follow down the same road
she went to the same comfort she found: the Lord Jesus Christ, her oasis.
